Vintage, Rare 1986 Droids Cartoon See-Threepio Figure, PVC (aka C-3PO). Yup, we did not get anything much here Stateside after '85 (I never saw a Droids display, did you), but they continued to be produced elsewhere, such as this 1986 issue See-Threepio (C-3PO) from the post-Return of the Jedi Droids Cartoon series (1986). Polyvinyl/non-articulated. Great price point to expand into the more obscure Star Wars toy lines. When you are tired of the same old Kenner vintage Star Wars, and/or when you want to step up your collection a bit, you need to go beyond Power of the Force to the Droids Cartoon series. WELL after Return of the Jedi and the virtual death of the entire Star Wars toy line, the Droids Cartoon series was released on Saturday morning cartoons. But with Indiana Jones, Ghostbusters, Masters of the Universe, G.I. Joe, etc., and advancing video games, the Droids Cartoon figures did very, very poorly in the marketplace. So, all the Droids cartoon stuff is rare. If you want the articulated Droids version of Threepio, you're looking in the ballpark of a grand. This is the same animation-stylized Threepio as the carded, articulated one, without the astronomical price tag. He's just gonna sit there in your cabinet anyway, so who cares if he moves or not lol.
