Allright, here he is. I am making a good faith effort to get Ginger to budge on some things she really likes, so I am going first by offering an authentic double telescoping Luke Skywalker from Star Wars: A New Hope. Though it hardly seems that anyone looking at this listing would need the explanation, here goes. When Kenner released their Early Bird Certificate Package (having failed to plan for the actual demand for Star Wars toys in December 1977, such that the only thing you got was a certificate to mail away for four figures and a rotating stand -- see below), some of them had Lukes with a double telescoping lightsaber. The handle/hilt slides down, then the thinner filament tip slides out. It was expensive to manufacture and not very durable, so Kenner quickly canned the idea. There are also double telescoping Vaders and Obi Wans out there, though they are typically far rarer. These "farm boy" double telescoping Lukes like this one here came in the Early Bird Certificate Package. Incidentally, if you want an Original 12 stand to display Luke on, which would have come with the Early Bird Certificate Package as well, we have a nice one listed in our shop. After mulling it over for the last probably three years, we have decided NOT to send Luke out for AFA grading, and we have not removed the hilt from his arm, nor have we removed the filament from the hilt. I'll admit it, I don't have the sand to do that -- if it broke I'd be devastated. But we worked the action on it and you can see it both in and out in the high res photos. Luke here is in pretty nice shape, he's fairly tight, not missing any paint on his boots, noticeably. Send him out for AFA, let the new Jedi film drop and I'd imagine you've got yourself a blue chip.
