Sugar Hill Gang Rapper's Delight Vinyl L.P. 1980, Grandmaster Flash and the Furious 5
Man this is about as early as you can get for the true birth of rap music. You do not get more legendary then Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five. This is truly the first. We've got some other really cool early rap and hip-hop stuff up, including a B- Boy Records pressing and an early L.A. street coloring book featuring some of our fallen favorites. Anyway, this is a hugely important foundation in the music world. Unfortunately, it's got some water damage, but that does not take away from its importance. I haven't tried it but I think with a cleaning it's perfectly playable, as well. However, to me this is something to just hang onto rather than play given its place in music history. To me, for this kind of music it is the equivalent of having an early Sun pressing from Elvis Presley If your flavors tend towards the roots of rock and roll.
