Vintage 1970s Hasbro GI Joe Adventure Team Secret of the Mummy's Tomb Set No. 7441

This is one if the really Epic GI Joe 12" sets. When I was a kid one of the greatest cartoons was Johnny Quest, and I couldn't get enough if that exotic lore. The Curse of the Mummy's Tomb scratches that itch perfectly. First, unlike many other Joe sets, this one actually came with the figure. So if yiur name was Marvin Stinkbaum from the Lower East Sude and you were a Joe virgin, this set was all you needed to pop your cherry.

We got a 6 wheel ATV, a sweet mummy in a sweeter sarcophagus, a winch, net, shovel, pick, driver, comic and record! Listen to the adventure, man, can you dig it?!

Condition notes (to supplement careful examination of photos):

1. The set originally came with a life-like adventurer Joe, i.e., with the fuzzy hair and beard. Didn't have one on hand, so we gave an O.G., circa 1964/1965 brown-haired, blue-eyed, painted-head Joe. My man is solid, has early limbs (e.g., #/R or L), and holds almost any position well. He does have an ancient cast on his left arm, which I just left on. It's kind of a non-issue, all things considered.

2. Technically, Joe should be sporting a brown/tan outfit with white buttons and the A/T patch, but, didn't have one, so it's green.

3. One base flange on the crane mount (forward port, to be exact) is broken, but does not impact display or functionality.

4. Rare record and comic are in nice shape.

5. Pretty sure the shovel is not correct for this set. But whatever. Its a shovel.

Can you remember a time before your phone, your calendar, your personal assistant - whatever flavor your current taskmaster - ruled your life, and the day was an endlessly-long, sunny, languid Summer-break kind of day when you were 10 or 11. And absofuckinglutely nothing else mattered in the world. We don't have Pym Particles, but absent that . . . . Get back in touch with your kid self. Ot could be a profound experienced.
